If you are serious and can tell me how to catch water snakes, you can have as many as you want from my pond.
Can't bring them to POOPS, though. Won't be there. But maybe could get them to you through Al or somebody who lives close to me.
I like snakes too and would much rather give them to somebody than kill them. Not that I mind a few in the pond, just that there are too dang many.
Buster...it sound like you won't be coming to POOPS this May 1 - but I will be happy to be wrong about this should your schedule change...(crossing fingers!)
I am new to BYC but not to chickens. I have had chickens most of the time for the past well lets say I was 7 when I got my first colored Easter chicks at Ben Franklin and now I am a Grandma. I currently just have a mixed heavy breed flock but I have two baby chick orders pending. I have had quite a few varieties but probably my top three faves are Orloffs, Modern & OE Game Bantams and Silkies, not that I am not interested in about three dozen other breeds but space, money and time have this way of kicking you in backside. I have also raised peafowl, guineas, bobwhites, geese and ducks. Going to get a few poults from Carla this year to try out. I currently live in the Wheatland/Mustang area.
It's good here tonight, Sooner - waiting for the weather to change. I have those little bantams out in the garage to worry about with this soon-to-be cold "Sn@w" storm, so I'll be traipsing out there to check on them. I am ready for the cold to be gone already.
By the way, I for one am pleased that "chubby and pale" is the new "in" fashion for this spring and summer - fit and tan is so 2009!
Grendelhen! It sounds like you will be another great source of knowledge for those of us who haven't kept chickens as long - and I like your breed choices. Carla is so wonderful - you are fortunate to know her and I'm so glad you found us!!
(I've always wanted to name a dog of mine "Grendel" but I haven't yet had one that fits that fantastic name.)
You have found a wonderful group of folks who raise all kinds of poultry and hatch all kinds of poultry and who will invite you to attend auctions with us.
I have fond memories of Ben Franklin stores from my youth. I also enjoyed seeing the colored chicks that were available up until just a few years ago.
Hope you will be able to join us May 1 at our Okie get together at the KOA in Choctaw. See the signature line of Al517 for more information.
