I truly look forward to each event!!! This year I have four or five really nice Standard size Cochin Roosters to sell at Poops in various colors!!! I need a good Pratridge Standard Cochin Rooster if anyone has one to trade or sell, would take another Partridge hen or two also!!!!! Have a blessed day all!!!! Lynn
Okla-Doodle-Doo Wayne in Tennessee sent a few more great photos to share
"After buying a new EE bantam roo and deciding he didn't have room for two pens of EEs, Wayne took a clue from the old gamecock guys and tethered both out for the hens. He built two awnings on the wall of the run and tethered a roo to each one. Under it is a nice roost for the roo and even room for a girl friend or two! A bowl of feed and water assures the hens will come within the roos' range. This way all the hens have access to both roos! Wayne says he hopes to see us all in a few weeks."
Moses Monty bring a few of those tablets while you are at it. Stupid shoulder & back are still hurting but I am going to work anyway. I wanted to use some sick leave days to goof off not to be sick.
Well you all have been really silly today.
Ok you all need to not bogart all the partridge cochins.
Well this may be a bit premature cuz if the hatchery may not have any dark brahmas (which I need despirately... hint, hint) they said they would send me some standard size partridge cochins. Big fluffy butts
The problem is that I already have two bantam size pullets with no roo. So someone needs to give up at least one bantam size partridge cochin cockeral. If you are not sure whether you have pullets or cockeral cochins I have become pretty good at telling them apart. The fee is ... one bantam size partridge cochin cockeral.
Wow it seems like all I am doing is ranting. Sorry folks!
just
me.... What is the saying "Silence is golden but duct tape is silver".
So who is going to Cement Saturday??? I think I maybe heading that way, Uli has already accepted that he will not get to see me at all Saturday.
Oh oh oh I totally forgot... So I drag my sore carcass out of bed this morning to go let the chickens out of the chicken yard and find a oppossum munching away at chicken feeder. Of course the chickens are on the other side of the yard trying not to draw any attention to themselves. So I run back into the house grab the 22 and go back out to the yard. There the thing sits eating away, even lets me walk right up to it and doesn't even try to run until I shoot it. Kinda felt bad cause it had babies but not really consider how many of my birds that thing has killed over the last 6 months and the thought of having 4 more running around just did not sit well.
Hopefully that is the last one on the property... Yeah right!!!
Hey I know there are a couple of people here on BYC how has dachaunds and was wondering how are they with chickens. I really like weener dogs even if they are little dogs. We can not have big dogs cause of the llamas but I think if I got a little puppy and let it grow up around the llamas they may all get along since they would not see it as much of a threat. Plus a dachaund is small enough to use the cat door to use the bathroom, easy potty training. Just a thought...
Well I think I am going to hit the hay. I am still tired and hurting... Have a great evening folks.
Hey guys! Ninja post--I have been thinking of getting on here so many times but life just gets in the way! I have been sewing and crafting to get things ready for POOPS...I can't wait! I hope you peeps are wanting totebags! Some for the benefit auction, some for the raffle...fun! All with poultry related theme of course!
I think Vern and I are going to not attend any auctions until POOPS so that we have enough $$ to spend there!
I am excited about the new chicken babies that we will get at POOPS! I bet we don't have nearly enough room for all the new babies...but we are experts and making pens in a pinch! Thank goodness we will be going into summer--easier to find spots to put 'em than in cold weather/winter.
I hope all are well--I have to get to bed...**SIGH**
Thanks City for posting for me. Hey maybe someone could put on a demostration at poops on how to load pics!Lol
I hate tyeing the roos up but really didn't have room for another pen for EEs. Hopefully they will get used to the legholders. It has worked for gamers for years so it should work for these guys.
Have three hens going broody!yeah. Now to decide which eggs I just have to have hatch!
I have two really nice stryafoam boxes that would make great incubators that I am bringing to poops in case anyone wants to try their hand at making one. These are hard stryfoam about two-3 inches thick, about two foot square, would hold at least three turners.

I'm not totally positive about this, but I think there won't be a sale this Saturday in Cement because of it being Easter weekend. I vaguely remember the auctioneer saying something about it .... and I think they decided to cancel.

just checkin in quick...been only getting a few eggs a day from 7 hens.... welll.... today they went all out 6 eggs including a big huge owie egg!
