Yep, we have 3 large dog runs full of 'em. We even had several wild turkey hens come up last year that are impressed with our Narragansett turkeys. My old german shepherd chased them all off last year. Now he's gone .... and so are the wild turkeys

You definitely need some Narragansett turkeys. They are the biggest and the best turkeys out there .... well, maybe Maribeth and I are just partial to them. Gerald's favorite is the Bourbon Red turkeys.

We have a hatcher full of turkey eggs hatching right now ... should have 'em at POOPS available .... if Kathryn, aka Oklahoma Lightning doesn't buy them all, that is.

thanks i am going to try and make them taller and wider, these are really only big enough to keep one chicken in, those in there are just testers to make sure they will hold a chicken and keep stuff out, just need them big enough for a pair or trio, for each breed i have.

They look big enough for pairs or maybe a trio.
Hopefully a coon can't reach through and get ahold of them.
I have had that happen before.

So are you sporting a new do now Micheal.

Don't mention rain at POOPS. We have some plans but I would rather not go there.

i am going to put 18 or 24 inch flashing around the bottom and sand inside to help with varmints and stability, right now all i have holding them down are tent stakes.

thanks carla, im needing a hen or two that throws a really dark blue egg.

I wish I knew of a combination of birds that would create a nice dark blue egg. That would be way cool ... I love blue. Our olive eggers are marans and ameraucana crosses. I've heard that putting a marans roo over an olive egger hen will eventually make hens that produce darker olive eggs. I wonder if putting a really good ameraucana roo over an olive egger hen would do any good to try to get a darker blue color? Hmmmmm ......

only way i know is the same as marans to get a darker brown just keep breeding by hatching and using the darkest eggs every time darker and darker. works the same with americaunas. guess i didnt really mean dark just not light think i may have even confused myself on that one.

Maybe you can stencil an army truck on the sides of the eggs.

Yeah, I need to get Jim aka Buster52 to do the caricature eggs. Surely he could come up with a good one for an army truck egg.

Carla, yeah we passed 60,000 HooRay for us!

Michael I still have barrels. I have some smaller barrels in some of my pens for nesting. I put some of the bigger barrels in the pens last winter for roosting but they always wanted to roost on top and not inside so I took them out.
