Gerald bought me 2 dozen blue/black ameraucana eggs about a month ago at Blanchard. I think at least half of 'em hatched. Nice blue eggs. So ... either I keep the pullets & put them with a marans, or keep 'em with an ameraucana & go for the traditional blue .... decisions .....

Yeah, I've seen olive eggs go for $60 a dozen here on BYC ! That was a bit crazy though. I'll see if my camera works tomorrow & try to get some pictures of them. Really cool looking olive eggs. It's the newest fad.

Those big barrels make great nests for turkeys too. My turkeys prefer them to the traditional dog houses.

Good Evening All.

Hope everyone had a great evening. I know Carla didn't since I talked with her before she headed to work. Carla, I bid $85 each for them but they still wouldn't budge off the $100 a piece so they got POed.

We didn't have as many birds as we would have hoped but we had some very nice birds. Prices were a little higher with several Americanas bringing $28 a piece. Most of the hens went in the $!2-18 range.

Some Americana eggs went for $9 a dozen, but I also bought some mixed RIR/Buff Orps that went for just $2 a dozen.

Guineas were at a premium going for $12 each to include roos.

We sold our pheasants and got the asking price. Some button guail $4 each and a dozen of their eggs went for $6.50.

We had people there that was looking for turkeys and more chicks and a lot more eggs. One guy from Commanche wanted some Black Maran eggs but we didn't have any there.

There was 67 people there and we sold apprx. 160 grown birds and 80+ chicks. We could have sold twice that many if we would have had them.

The weather was better than our last sale but I think it kept a lot of folks indoors.

We would like to thank everyone that did come out and hope that if you didn't make this sale you will be able to make the next one. We will have 2 sale next month, May 15th and again on the 29th, being the 3rd Saturday and the 5th Saturday of the month. As always, we would like to thank our BYC friends that help support us at every sale.

Hey Al, Heck I didn't get those eggs set until Monday morning after that auction but they started hatching this afternoon.
Glad you are home. We got pretty chatty tonight. At least I did.
Several people got on, saw I was here and left.
Carla, B52 and MD are still here.
