Just a reminder for the Okies who want to be bobwhite quail owners - if you are raising bobwhites, you need to get either a commercial or a hobby breeder's license from the Department of Wildlife in order to have them on your premises.

Edited to add: Sorry Shavon, I didn't read your post that acknowledged you need to get permits before I posted

Hey Doc,

I've used paper egg cartons and I've used the fancy holders. Either one works great, but egg cartons let you get more eggs per tray than the fancy holders do.

I'm with Tara on this one

You have found a wonderful group of folks who live in Oklahoma or wish they lived in Oklahoma. I see from your list of birds that you are on your way to acquiring a poultry addiction, so just let us know what else you might need to add to your flock and we will see what we can do to "enable" you to acquire it.

You and Yonna need to stay away from each other!!
She had to much fun bidding and the brooder is full
once again..

Hush.... I haven't even set my eggs yet. It's driving me nuts...
Momma won't let me because I have nobody to turn the eggs for me this weekend.
I don't want to go to Texas~!!! I want to stay home and set my eggs before it's too late~!!!

What happened to the broody hen? If she is large fowl, she can probably handle about 2 dozen eggs if she is in a nest box or a tub or box that will help her keep them together.

Queen-Peaches, your comment on how surprised you were when you met Teach/Roy, reminded me to post that I was surprised at you two, too! I had already put faces and personalities to you and Hi-jacker in my mind, and found out I was not close at all! Honestly, I was expecting two elderly people, not you two spring chickens! And I don't think anyone could have expected you two to be as nice and helpful as you showed your selves to be!

What color of runner ducks do you have? I have fawn runners and plan to get some other colors later this summer. I like the runner ducks because they don't get intot the stock tanks with their muddy feet, although the runner ducks do keep their water tub full of a layer of mud on the bottom from walking/swimming through it. Fortunately, the turkeys don't seem to mind too much that their water tub is always murky.

Emma is a polish?? U know I shouldn't say this but Yonna is
in LOVE and has room....

Well, were does Yonna live? I'd be happy to sell, as long as I can get another Black Crested White that won't eat the eggs. Preferably a chick, I'd love to raise one from a chick~!!!

Eggs? I thought you put them in your car?

My eggs from Michael, I got the one's from you.

Oh the Guinea eggs? Where'd you leave them?

Good evening all!!!

Been outside most of the day moving chickens and rearranging. Got the shed cleaned out and have started moving brooders out there so I can get them out of my garage

. trying to get more organized. 3 brooders moved and 3 to go! Taking the opportunity to thoroughly clean and sterilize them.
