I've pulled a trailer through the Rockies with a six banger before. Of course it was a just a little kitty Cat!!!

Yeah I was looking at SUV's and bigger sedans and even a crossover or two, I seen her reaction to those then I said let's look at this and her eyes lit up, I made it seem as though it was her idea.

So I got her a new Toyota Camry LE and she truely loves it, that dang thing is allot bigger than I thought and powerful to the point that I was amazed. she is tired of driving trucks and large vehicles so a big Family sedan is a pleasant change for her. Plus I darn near stole the dang thing from the dealer and the recall work has already been done.

Yeah, with the advances they've made in materials in the past 20 years, they can make the interiors more roomy and comfortable in a smaller car these days. I just don't think I could drive anything that didn't say FORD on it.

I will always need a truck till my last breath and it will always be a working man's truck and therefore it will also have a FORD emblem on it's Grill, it's the only truck I have ever driven and the only one I will ever buy so I am with you on that one Kieth !!.
Plus I will need another truck soon and then it will be my turn to get a cool one like your's, in white of course LOL.

When I got my first mini-van in '95, hubby was wanting me to test drive SUVs. I test drove a couple and told him that I wasn't interested in a vehicle that rides like a truck. We will always have a truck and I enjoy driving his one ton truck (don't like to park it in a parking lot, but I enjoy driving it down the highway) The mini-vans however are not as bumpy to drive so I can enjoy the extra height above traffic, which helps me drive at night, with a smoother ride than a truck. Besides, I can transport cages in the mini-van and keep the critters cool/warm depending on the weather.

We looked at and drove the new Malibu's, fords new large sedan and the new Buick lucern, this Camery LE was bigger and ten times the rig of those others and it get's 31 MPG w/ big a V-6, that really made me happy with gas prices this summer skyrocketing to well over $3.00 gal. It's a silver metallic with light Grey interior and that will make it cooler in the summer and easy to keep clean on these dusty summer roads.

Be careful about "always"
Hubby "always" drove a Ford until the year he retired and decided to buy his dream truck. It was a transition year for Ford on the engines and they had not yet gone to the 4 door with a full back seat that has leg room.

He test drove a Dodge for grins and ended up buying a deisel Cummings ? engine with a very nice truck around and behind the engine. When he goes hunting in Wyoming, he can pull a trailer with several tons of gear on it and still go faster in the mountains than his friends driving Fords and pulling less weight. They teased him the first year about driving a Dodge, but none of them laugh anymore and now ask him to put their stuff on his trailer so they won't have to pull so much weight.

Until I bought that 2000 ford, every truck I have ever owned was white. I decided I wanted a red one so that's what I bought. This time, that black was calling to me. I considered the gold and the red, but I liked the black so much better. It's too tall for Satanica, but it has running boards so it works out ok.

And Maribeth, I didn't mean that I don't like her van, I just don't like long trips in it. For around town, you can't beat it, for some of the same reasons that you mentioned.

I started to buy a Powerstroke Diesel, but I really don't need that kind of power that often. And with diesel costing more than unleaded (never thought I'd see that), I just couldn't justify it. Maybe next time.

I agree that a truck and a mini-van are a nice combination. We also have an old full sized sedan that hubby drives around town, so we have the best of all selections. I put a box of bees in the full sized trunk of the sedan last week, when my van was blocked in the driveway by visitors and the truck was hooked to a trailer. It worked out fine.
