Well I figured I lost a bunch of my 2 month old chicks last night but actually only one.
I had three others that were just barely moving and completely soaked. Actually I thought two of those were dead until I picked them up and they moved their heads just a bit.
Anyway, I blow dried them and then stuck them in the incubator and when last checked they were looking around asking. Where are we and how in the world didi we get here?

Hey all : just popping in after an already crazy day, woke up to several losses in my meat bird pen I had them outside yesterday in big shaded cages while I did some cleaning and rearanging in the coop, they seemed fine when I put them back in they are so frail for being a big meat bird. Oh well they were the first I have ever lost. Then on Sunday the dog and cat were playing and the cat injured herself somehow ( I was gone golfing at the time ) and it seemed severe so this morning I took her to the Vet, Laura caught that head cold thing I musta gave her and couldn't go, anyway the news was bad and required surgery with a very dim outlook it's continued quality of life, so the family decision was made to ease her suffering and now the girls are boo-hooing all around the house. Well when it rains it pours what a day and it's not even late afternoon, hope everybody's day goes much smoother.

It also has the hooks on the wall for hanging the kids and Jason when they don't do as she expects. Psssssttttttttt: Don't ask about the whips and chains, that is a rather touchy subject.

Ohhhhhh Al! I am so sorry!

It hurts so much to lose a family pet that is a family member...

I am surprised to hear of those who lost birds yesterday as it seemed so much cooler...at least in our neck of the woods. Funny how it is like that sometimes.

Well I'm glad I mowed after I painted the gerbola.We had a good hard shower come thru. The main storm missed us but the rain filled a 5 gallon bucket under the eves so it was pretty good. Cooled down a little to. I had just started to feed and had to quit. I was walking to one of the pens and the Taco dogs were running ahead of me and there was this flash of lighting almost on the ground between us. A second later and a loud crackle boom! It was halarious watching the Tacos jump up and tuck their tails and run for the house.! lol About half way there they stopped and turned around to see if I was following. I was to busy laughing!I don't think I have ever been so close to a strike and the resulting thunder,apparently they hadn't either!lol

My neighbor brought me over a bunch of overgrown squash and said"these are to big for us thought you might like a mess" Duh if they are to big for them they are to big for me!lol I took them anyway,its the thought that counts. I will put them thru the food chopper and then add a bottle of red pepper flakes and feed them to the chickens. Supposed to help keep them wormed. They love it anyway. Don't forget if you have garden waste and a way of grounding it up the chickens love it lots of stuff they can't eat naturally but if ground up they will devour it. Wish I had a place for a piggy!
