Wayne, Wayne, Wayne! Let me add to my list of "be carefuls" for you:

1. Be careful to take care of your heart and don't do anything too strenuous.
2. Be careful in this muggy heat - you can easily suffer from heat frustration.
3. Don't get struck by lightning!

I'm glad you're okay - and thanks for the reminder about chopping stuff up for the chickens - I am trying to stay ahead of my cucumbers - going to pick a few more tomorrow and start making pickles... My mom out in the Panhandle has requested that I bring tomatoes this coming weekend. My plants are full of big fruits that are taking SO LONG to start turning, so I picked a bunch of green tomatoes yesterday and brought them in to see if they would turn faster...probably a dumb thing to do, but it's an experiment. Last year right before the first freeze some kind person on here reminded me that I could pick all the green tomatoes still on the vines and bring them in so the cold wouldn't get them. (Thanks to whoever that was...

)

Yeah she was Alyssa's first kitten I got it for her when she was 6 yrs old, so she is pretty devestated right now.

Well I got a call a few minutes ago from Lou Dunn Stimpy's pretty wife, He went into surgery today and came through with flying colors, he will stay in ICU for about 5 day's so that they can watch for any infection better. I spoke at length with him on Saturday at the Blanchard sale and things have progressed with the doctors and his treatment to such a point where it was sounding very good and he was very excited to get it done because now things were looking so much better. Well he & they were right and he is doing fine they only removed 6" of his colon without complications and the prognosis looks very very promising. When I told him that My DW Laura went the same route & the same treatment regime with what is now a cancer free colon he was very excited. So Stimpy will be back in the saddle in no time at all, he thought you would want to know he was ok and told Lou for me to post the word.

Yeah it's great news to hear one of our own will be returning to good health, I will try and get his hospital & room info so we can all call to wish him well.

It also has the hooks on the wall for hanging the kids and Jason when they don't do as she expects. Psssssttttttttt: Don't ask about the whips and chains, that is a rather touchy subject.

Doc make sure you eat my share of the pizza just like ya did at Earl's. I'm starting to starve to death because you wont let me have any.

That is really good news about Stimpy. My father went through the same thing in his early 70s and did very well. Lived 10 years longer with no further colon problem.

Sorry to hear about the beloved cat. We lost one recently who was 21.

Robin - your friend at Orscheln's chatted up a customer today which resulted in a call to me for 10 laying hens! Awesome. What nice people! They adopted 3 chicks from a classroom hatch this school year and got hooked on chickens. I hope we see them on the BYC as new members soon.

Suzi - I sent you some pictures.

DH bought me a garden cart, and it has revolutionized my feeding and watering chores. I can put three feed buckets, disinfectant, and a scrub brush into the cart. I have also used it to move loaded travel cages. What a treat. Wagons aren't just for little kids anymore. It's got a bed liner, so next spring I can use it to move some compost. It makes my wheelbarrow look like old junk. I guess it is old junk: rusty tub, chronically flat tire, and taped wooden handles to ward off splinters.

Broody Barnevelders are super cranky in the heat. Snakes in the coop don't help. This little lady spits fire every time I open the door to make sure she's okay.

Went to the DR. today, he says everything looks good, BP, C, H, everything, I also lost 15 pounds this month!!!! Now just need to loss another 150 and I will be good!!!! Hens still setting except one, she can't make up her mind!!! Great news about Stimpy!!! Have a blessed day all!!! Lynn
