Once again something else important has gotten in the way of showing my rabbits. This time it's the fact that my county fair is only a few days away (the wednesday after) and I have much left to do!

They are longer. Each tray holds 102 eggs

My eyes did not deceive me then. What size of incubator would use those trays? One of the commercial size that holds a thousand or more eggs?

No, not a commercail one. There are 2 of them. One was an incubator with autoturner that holds 8 trays and the other was used as a hatcher with a rack that smaller trays sit on. We took the rack out and are going to build wider trays to make it another incubator that will hold 150 to 200 eggs per tray. It will be manual turn. If we like it that way I will probably take the autoturner out of the other one and do the same.

For those interested in the Shawnee Poultry show catalog, I just heard this from Mr. Britt:
Grace,

The catalog will be online at www.okspf.com a lot of it is already up. We will NOT post the entry forms until later in Sept .

Thanks,

Terry Britt

Okay, the suspense is killing me...

What kind of incubator is it?

Asking because we plan to buy a cabinet incubator before next spring and so in the information gathering stage at the moment.

Im not real sure what kind of incubators. The cabinets almost look homemade. But they are nice if homemade. Somebody would have put alot of thought into them before builing them. But the hatcher use to have turners in it. The turner moter and assembly is still on top. So bottom line, I cant tell if they are homemade or if someone just rebuilt the cabinets. I can get you pictures if you want?

TY guys!

I booked our room back in May, so we're good on our accommodations. Guess I'll set a reminder to check on entry info in Oct. I told the kids they could each pick out their 3 favorite birds to take like they do for their 4-H shows.

Pics would be great if you have the time, sjarvis. Thanks.

Just to sate my curiosity if nothing else. We have been looking at a lot of 'bators last couple of months. So far we are most drawn to the Brinsea Ova-Easy.

The fan and heating element are huge. The fan is on the side of the incubator and the heating element wraps around the outside of it. They are 4' deep on the inside.

I don't think so if taking them from your own land, If you were wanting to sell them I think you need a hunting and fishing license as well as a breeders license as they are native to Oklahoma I think the hunting and fishing rules have info on whats required for collecting turtles
I'd like to see pictures of your turtle trap if it wouldn't be a big problem
