Beautiful floor Sooner! You know the questions are going to start!lol Like how did you do the squares, what is the gold trim around the squares,is that a totally different color or is it just more layers of the same color(the dark squares). That sure makes the cement foors look nice. WE are busy looking at plans on what we want to do. Kind of thinking about doing one of those barns with a loft like lowes has, only bigger.

Cnograts on the new chicks greaybear. Are your pigs purebred spots?

Gracies Dad you got that right about Doc! Typical Gov. planning tho. Take someone who knows nothing about something and train them how to doi it by the books rather than use someone who has first hand knowledge!

Thanks Grace's dad & Wayne!

Let see if I can answer all these.

The diamonds were cut into the floor with a diamond blade I used a skill saw (difficult but doable) my friend (he's a mason) used a grinder & was able to free hand them faster than I could using the skillsaw.

There isn't gold trim around the diamond actually, that is where the stain went into the crack & it just appears gold in the picture, we will come back with grout in the crack soon.

I used two different colors of stain, we used the darker of the two on the diamonds to make them darker. When the floor was too light the first time & I had to re-do it I again applied twice as much on the diamond as the rest of the floor.

I know a lady that has a much smaller one than I do with a taller pitch & she has two small bedrooms (loft type) one on each end, it is the cutest house I have ever seen.

Love the floors! Great job!
Now quit stressing about them.

What I really like are the walls. Looks like you chose the popular jail them, only with wood!

Just kidding you know!

Awwww they are so cute! Thank you for sharing Queen!!!

This reminded me that I have babies hatching today! There was 4 under the momma this morning.....I will be looking for someone wanting polish & polish cross! This pen has White crested black polish, silver laced wynndotes & a partride cochin in it, bet it will be an interesting mix.

Awesome job on the floor. Did you use cement stain? I've been thinking about staining our cement, but have heard it has a lot of fumes, does it? I have very bad asthma and am unable to tolerate much of any volitle fumes.

Here's what I did this last weekend:

Lot's of fun colors with these guys. Finally got my new Brinsea Eco 20, too. It's supposed to be great for hatching gamebirds and it looks like I can put anything from button quail to turkey eggs in it. The best part is that it is heavy enough to keep on the table downstairs without my little helper being able to knock it around or pull it down onto the floor very easily. Now I can eggwatch without having to troop upstairs.
