Good morning....

It has been so long since I have got to post, at least I have been trying to keep up with the thread. We have been busy with wrestling tournaments for our youngest and the wrestling booster club to help get new uniforms, warm-ups, bags, and equipment for the wrestling team. I am hoping we will be going to blanchard this weekend as we have decided no wrestling tournaments for the rest of this week and weekend so Brandon(our youngest) can take time to heal a bruised muscle of the back of his neck from a tournament 2 weeks ago.

I'm not hatching this time of the year either.
I'll let you know if I sell any of my birds, though!

Good Morning Everyone!

Just when I thought I was gonna send the 3 boys to their family to the holiday and have a week off, just me and HotDog, I got a phone call for a new special friend at 7:00 am yesterday morning.
He is such a cutie. And definetly loves the Chickens...I am once again still out numbered with the count of boys in the home rising to 5 total again ...

Please remember Barnswallow and I as we are tested each day with these children and pray that we have the strength to continue to care for them and share our homes.. So many children will be without a family for the Holidays. I am thankful that I can open my home to these boys and share family and blessings with them.

Hope all my feathered friends and family have a wonderful Thanksgiving! Don't eat too much and leave some scraps for the birds.

Peaches - You and BarnSwallow are amazing. Blessings to you both. My husband and I raised our two girls and then attempted to open our home to a teenage niece. We only lasted a year as foster parents. I have tremendous respect for any family strong enough and committed enough to raise other people's children.

Peaches - I've been meaning to ask you about that black Ameraucanas rooster that sold so high at Fletcher. What was the deal with that? I'm hoping there's a good story behind it. The black Ameraucanas rooster I bought along with the Dominique rooster will be just as handsome in about three months, but I doubt there will ever be a bidding war over him.

Peaches,

We are foster and adoptive parents too. What county are you in? We are in Pott. We currently have 3 bio sons (16,13,10) 1 foster daughter (10) and 1 "chosen" daughter (5). The biggest challenge right now.... the 13 year old! Who'da thunk?

I'm still hatching, and guess I will be for awhile. My lavender silkies have finally matured to the point where they are laying reliably, and I'm getting lav babes sporadically--mama hatched. An incubator hatch is going on right now--the first I've fully incubated, and so far, in spite of a few glitches on my part, there are five lav babes, with at least three more pipped. Total of 21 lav eggs and 4 others. Happy Day!
