I have never had such a determined to be uncontrollable breed in my life as these JRT's. I love 'em, and God knew what he was doing when he made them, they're too cute and lovable to kill but I'll never have them again. They are destructive beyond compare, totally unsocialize-able, will kill a cat, chicken or yank a bird from the sky in a heart beat. But, they are what they are and I chose them, so they have a home for life. Just won't repeat the purchase. And now it's colder than Billy B Dayum'd, so I'm gonna go cuddle up with 'em!
Our neighbors also have a daschund, also so cute but stuborn! We actually dreamed of getting one for years but now we know.
We got our mutt, Louie, by accident. He was literally dying at the house across the street when we rescued him.
We didn't want a dog at the time and planned on giving him to a nice family. Ha! He is so sweet and smart and very trainable.
The neighbors trained him to kill cats but now he is best friends with 4 cats and last week when my runt Mottled flew right thru the cage after I spooked them, Louie caught her in his mouth but immediately let her go when I shouted his name.
Some day I would llike to get a German Shepard. Wonder how they are with chickens?
