Coral , I have been dieing for white orping tons , there anyway you can hold that one back til you come to bushy again or do you have more

Donnie - I only have one White Orp right now. I will hold on to him (I think it's a him) until the next time I can go to Brushy. I'll send you a PM when I know I'm going. I the mean time, he will stay in the White Chantecler pen.

I'm off to check the pens. We had a skunk spray south of the barn earlier tonight, but with the high winds the scent didn't last long, so I couldn't find out what sent off the stink bomb. I'm worried about the wind knocking a branch down and shorting out the electric fence.

Thanks coral

Robin sorry about your little guy, but you did the right thing by him.

I have been busy on shutterfly making a wedding album for my father in law and his new bride. They are both over 70 years old and just married on the 13th of Nov. Each had been married 49 years to their first spouses, and each lost them to cancer 3 years ago. I am not a scrap booker by nature, and am finding this whole process even w/ the help of shutterfly stressfull, but can't imagine it was even doable w/o shutterfly!!!!! (for me anyway) But there is light at the end of the tunnel, they are all uploaded and organized, now I just need to add text and decide between two different formats.

Since you have been reading the thread for awhile, I won't give you the standard "disclaimer" - but will remind you that you were aware we are addicts and enablers before you signed on to post

Do you attend any of the poultry auctions? Will we get to meet you at the Blanchard auction this coming Saturday?

Sorry I missed this reply. I have not attended any auctions yet...and I was hunting all weekend and just getting caught up on emails and what not. I will make the next one...I hope

I wish the wind would die down. I've replaced straps on a few tarps, but I doubt they will hold. My new white Ameraucanas hens do their Marilyn Monroe impersonation every time they turn their backs to the wind. (White dress, sewer grate, burst of wind...) I guess it loses something in translation.

DH has a few trusses built for the roofing over the new pens. He's building two a day, so the east side of the barn addition will be roofed this weekend. I'll take some pictures tomorrow. He's a software guy but an engineer to the core. I'm embarrassed to think what the roof would have looked like if I'd done it myself

Visiting with Mom was amazing. She's busier now that she's retired than she was when she worked full time.

Did you guys happen to get her from Mike D.? I got a pair from him last weekend and are some good look'n birds. I cannot wait to see what they will look like when they are grown.

Yes. Mike is the one that brought her. We already have 3 hens and a few roos, so she was a perfect addition.

good morning Okies.....

First day back to school from break. It was alittle hard to get out of bed this morning. I didnt fall asleep til almost 2am. I dont know what the problem was but I am paying for it this morning.

Morning All,

Poco, I knew just what you were talking about with your ameraucanas in the wind.

Yesterday WAS crazy windy. My coops are on casters in the pens so they are easy to move for cleaning. I had to chalk them with bricks or they would roll clear across the pens. They chickens were confused, thought they were in the "Wizard of Oz" tornado.
