I just think there is something wrong when the first day of the new year is one of the coledest days of the winter, its just not a good way to start the year out....LOL

Good Morning and Happy New Years to all, My neighbor told the wife last night that he has a 400 egg incubator and was going to set it up if I have anything I want to hatch!!!!! I may have to take him up on that!!! It is bitter cold here, Dakota just came dragging in from a Lock Down Party at the Church next door, we had an enjoyable quiet evening last night. Quiet here this morning, Heather is still in bed which doesn't happen often, she is usually up before the chickens!!! I slept in till 8:30am, Jessie had to be a work at 8am at Atwoods. Have a great day all!!! Lynn

Morning everyone & happy new year!

We went & picked up a few things & ate dinner out then home to hang out. When I got on here there wasn't anyone around so I went to bed. I think this is the first time I have ever slept through the new year.......Another cup of coffee & I hwill go feed some scratch.

Right now I am thankful that I filled all the feeders last night. Of course, if it doesn't warm up soon I am going to have to pull on the insulated overalls and go break ice for everyone. Brrrrr!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!

Morning all, I trust most of us had a fun and safe New Years eve, uneventful here at home as well.

From what I have read on here and from talking to my friends, I think that most of us are recognizing that when it comes to New Year's Eve - there is "no place like home."

I was browsing the duck thread, looking for suggestions on worming and saw where you were up late on BYC

I was sound asleep by 11:30 last night.

I think I am going to get to try out my new gloves as well Meribeth. It is cold out there! Hate to go out but once I do I will have to get busy with work today. Going to grout & get my shelves painted & covered.

Wayne and I were up past 1:00 am just visiting, and I agree with you Marybeth no place like home last night.

We figured out years ago it is not worth the hassle of being out past 8 pm on new years. The youngins throwing parties start running out of drinks and making runs to the stores, it just isn't safe. It is just so much easier on the mind and body to just stay home relax and enjoy the night.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!

We have it pretty easy, with our A-frame pens the water doesn't freeze unless it is an extended cold spell. I think they retain more heat from the ground it sure is nice.
