Chicken Therapy is definately helping me forget the crazies (Parents and some other teachers!) I can't even take my Birthday off bercause it is CRTs week. Maybe I will buy myself a nice chicken as a present to myself. Wait a minute, I do that about every week.
BTW - My DH wasn't mad at all about the little buff cockerel I bought last night - The buff pullet has him totally wrapped around her little wing feathers.

No school for me tomorrow. I just got a text message from our automated alert service. I guess that means I can finish the laundry that wasn't folded or ironed today

Tomorrow I'll have to try out my new boot spike attachments. FIL gave me some stretchy rubber treads with spikes that hook over boot heels and toes, sort of like a shower cap, but for your feet. He says they're magic. I bet he wears his to get to his mailbox, since the driveway is like a playground slide when the weather is cold.

We have never had a guinea pig. Are they as noisy as hamsters? Many years ago, we had to move the hamster out of my son's room because it would play all night and no matter what kind of exercise wheel we tried, there was enough noise to keep my son awake.

P&B I thought fruit tree branches(like apple) were good for them? The area the sales are in has a high Amish/Menonite community, they raise them for meat,it seems to be the girls that care for them,I guess because its something they can handle. I give my guinea pigs hay/straw and rabbit pellets, and carrots at least every other day and apple cores. Carah is Lil S.'s a girl or boy?

Stephanie,
A member if the Cochin thread has a trio of LF Splash Cochins for sale. They are beautiful but the breeder is in Minnesota and will not ship - that would be quite a road trip.

My understanding is that apple and peach branches are toxic to rabbits, just like apple seeds are toxic to them. They can eat apples, but the tree wood isn't good for them. I usually give mine pecan or oak branches.

I didn't know that. I do remember years ago feeding mine fruit limbs, the only thing I noticed was that their pee was really yellow, almost orange! Maybe if I had fed them a lot they might have died! I really like haveing rabbits, they are a lot of work but fun. I jsu have a hard time getting rid of the young ones, not wanting to keep them, just not a very good market. Thats why I decided to go with a fancy breed this time.

What "fancy breed" of rabbits do you have?
I bought some young rabbits last night to raise as fryers, since I haven't had much luck with my own breeding program.
