One doe was pulling fur but there wasn't a cage card on her cage to indicate that she was bred with the group on the 19th. I quickly gave her a nest box and put her in a cage with baby wire around the bottom. By the time I had finished getting all the rest fed and watered, she had a corner of the nest box filled with fur. I don't mind incubating without notes, since the chicks are warm while they are verbally telling me that they hatched. Unfortunately, a doe without a nestbox will have the kits on the wire and in this weather, the kits won't make it through the night.

Hopefully, we will have some cute, squirmy kits by tomorrow night and all will be in nests well lined with lots of fur.

Most of my rabbit cages have snap locks on them in addition to whatever kind of latch they have. Of course, I have one rabbit out right now, that apparently jumped out when I left his cage unlatched while I got some water for him. I think I got sidetracked and the cat scared the rabbit right out of his open cage. He can stay out for a few days or until I can catch him in a net or a live trap. Last Spring, I had one rabbit roaming the yard for over a month, before he ran into a live trap that had been set out for varmits. He went into a cage with extra snap latches.
