ChicknGurl, since I met up with you, I sold a complete order of ducklings (long story.....), and the two ducks that I hatched this year.
I am also going to sell at least 12 birds at Blue. I think that I have to stay to pick up the money, so I may be up late tonight!!!

Buckguy, ohohoh, I know Chickmommar! I met her at Shawnee (but you already knew that, didn't you

). Why are we welcoming her now? Did she just get added to our list?

Kasi, I can understand why you haven't been online much

Serenitychristie, that is awesome! Do you have anymore chicks, as of today???
I have birds from OkCarla too, and they are just precious! The ones I have are Silkies and Spitzhaubens; what are yours?

thanks for the welcome

Am I understanding that their is a place to get chickens? An Auction? Is it better than the feed store? I know next to nothing about this-except for what I have learned from BYC, so if any of you wants to take me under their wing and show me the ropes, feel free ^_^ Is there a way to tell what sex my Buff Orps and RIR are?

I will add you to our list. I can't keep up anymore with so many new members.
You said you lived off 240? We have other folks here that live along 240. I am not too far off there myself.
You should be happy with the buf orps and the Reds they are both good layers.
As for auctions there are several around. One in Harrah every other Saturday at 5 p.m. Another in Cement on the first Saturday of the month. They are both happening this weekend.
I have never been but I have only heard great things about the Cement auction. Harrah does some things that some don't like. One is that they sell a lot of junk before they get to the chickens. I like it though and I go there because it is close to me.
There are other auctions in Maud, Perkins, Blue, Monroe and Inola.
I hope this helps and again welcome.
Monty

Yes, as far as I know. There is another in Harrah and one in by Inola this weekend. I have heard nothing but good thngs about the Cement auction. I don't know where in town it is located but Cement isn't that big so it shouldn't be hard to find.

Awful quiet here? Where is everyone?
Auctions this weekend plus Chickenstock. Who is going where?
I've known since the date was set I couldn't go to chickenstock but I sure hope it turns out well after all the hard work Mawchickide has put into it.

Carla, Where you been hiding?

Hey Everyone. Buckguy, I've been hiding at the house or at work ... too many chickens and too much to do at home, then a full time job that's getting more stressful. I just found out that I have to change my shift to days and go work in another building. Gerald and I won't have the same hours or work in the same building anymore

We won't even see each other during the week!

YES, There is a poultry auction in Cement this Saturday. I talked to the auction owner last Sunday, and he said they were definitely having the auction this Saturday. The auction is held at the Cement fairground. I'm not quite sure what road it's on, but we drive from Tuttle, to Chickasha, then to Cement. Once we're in the town of Cement, we turn on a road that looks like it is the main street of Cement, and drive a block or two until we get to the fairground ... you'll definitely know you're there with all the trucks and cages & birds.

We won't be able to make it to Chickenstock either. We have to take a truck full of chickens & baby chicks to the auction in Cement. I've run out of places to put chickens at my house, so it's time to downsize. I have too too many chicks hatching and no more brooder space!

Cammie, we'll be thinking of you on Saturday night ... CONGRATULATIONS & We wish you all the Happiness in the World!!!!!

You know what..... for some reason, that got me thinking! I could almost work this so I could come to your wedding! I know that next week I will be in Duncan but if I could just get up there on the 7th, I could come see you
big_smile.png

Grace, that would be TOO cool!! The wedding is at 2:00 on Saturday. Even if you didn't get to come to the wedding, it'd still be awesome to get to see you! We won't be gone the whole week after the wedding, just part of it.

Carla, I wondered how you were housing all these eggs and chicks you come up with! So sorry you have to make a sell, but the way the last auction went, I think it will be worth it! Let me know how it goes. Oh, and I completely understand you with the opposite schedule thing. Clark works evenings. I get off about the time he goes to work, and go to bed when he gets off. Maybe that's why our relationship works.

Where's Kaacres been? I don't think I've talked to her since the last Cement auction!

Carla. Glad to hear you are ok but sorry about the work detail. That is rough. The first four years we were married my wife and I worked different hours with different days off. No fun. I hope it gets better at some point.
I won't make Cement but will try to hit Harrah.
I guess we can compare notes.
I am going to Falls Creek next week as a sponsor so I have to simplify my chicken operation so my dear wife can survive.
Buck
