The disappearance couldn't be mysterious, it would come with a bang most of the neighbors would hear. Six weeks ago one of them asked if I had a bb gun to shoot their dog with so it would learn to not come on my property. 3 days later they heard a bang which was a shot to scare the dog away. Before the dog was out of my yard they were yelling for her. They leave me no choice.PS the police department has given me their ok because last spring I lost a baby goat to a dog, a 6 week old lamancha I bought at the auction and bottle fed for 3 weeks.

Oklahoma law permits the owner of animals/poultry being molested or killed by a dog on their property, to shoot the dog or require the owner of the dog to euthanize it. Oklahoma law also states that the owner of a dog that kills farm animals or poultry, can be required to pay restitution to the owner of the dead animal/poultry.

So should you not be up so late? Rest is the best thing for recovery you know.

Congrats on your day, I bet there is some stiff Cornish competition at Shawnee this year!

PD told me it was part of the make my day law. I just can't believe my neighbors keep letting them out. they have runs for them behind their house. Its not much of a problem until the Dobe/Catahula mix is out. today is the first time all of them were here. It worries me because they are starting to travel all as a group or pack.

Then you should have no trouble taking a shot. Dogs traveling in packs allowed by their owners....are dangerous.

If you have a 12ga you can get the rubber slugs or shot that is used for both a bear deterrent and crowd control by law enforcement. I really bet those smart!!

Got on here late so missed some good conversations.
One of my freezers went out and have spent the past two days cooking up chickens (shared with the neighbors) and cooking up blackberries into juice for jelly. Sent the strawberries to my sister in law...she made 35 pints of jam. Had to toss some meats and frozen vegetables....Bought this one 10 years ago and this has happened three times...cost more in lost food than the freezer cost to begin with..

Hubby is going thru the day 5-6 relapse...suffering with lots of pain and unable to swallow. Finally got some chicken broth down him tonight.

Al, take care of yourself...sounds like you picked up a strep...

Nana, the pack part really scares me, I talked to another neighbor last week who is having a problem with them to, but he has no chickens or goats. I also had 9 golden laced wyandots killed last year, I thpught it was from something else but now I believe it was a dog.

We have pack issues here too...people dump dogs thinking farmers can use another dog...when they chase the calves, we get out the guns. A pack can turn on people too.

Knowing it's irresponsible neighbors makes the dog the victim, too.
