I am not sure about I-35 but the roads in the city are still slick in spots. The side roads and rural roads are still bad. Most of the snow today was more on the East side of the metro so where you are going probably didn't get much.

Thanks! We'll be heading down I-35 to NW Expressway a little past Penn Square Mall.

FIL in Yukon, OK (just outside OKC) sent an e-mail. More snow on the ground there and predictions are for more to accumulate Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. He mentioned Nebraska. I think he's tired of the snow.

A neighbor just showed up with his tractor. It's outfitted with a scoop, so he's going to scrape our 1/4 mile drive and help DH coax the Dodge back up the hill to the shop. It's had a nice long rest, so this ought to be easy

We've had two inches of new snow since six this morning. It's wet and sticky, so I think it will turn into a crusty mess pretty soon. I didn't get to take any new pictures since my camera batteries are used up. I guess I should go look for the charger.

She IS broody, this summer she and Jack went round and around with the broodiness. Marans aren't like my pet Cochins though. They are alot bigger too. Even when my pullets peck me it doesn't hurt.
Jack sure is a tough old bird, strong too. I can hardly rehook some of the latches on his pens. I wasn't being a good samaritan though. I love to do anything with farm animals, 6 years of living in the big city, Tokyo, didn't get the farm girl out of me.

I'm only getting a few eggs each day. They are usually really, really cold. Not cracked, though, so I'm going to set a few to see if they are okay.

Right now for Silkies males we've got 1 blue, 2 blacks and 1 white. For females we've got 3 blues and 1 black. None of the gals are laying right now. We're pairing blue to blue hoping to up our blacks in the process. We definitely want more whites, but I know it'll be a wait on the birds. Debating whether I should beg a few ASBC members to see if I can buy any eggs. My shipped egg hatch rates are abysmal, but every so often, I still try.

The kids do a little youth fair to kick things off. The poultry "judge" doesn't seem to know a whole lot about poultry and I think he awards based on what birds he thinks are prettiest. I was thinking about getting a modern bantam, a showgirl and one other interesting bird for DD to enter for the heck of it.

My friend in OKC, Gatewood; south east of 23dr and Penn, said the snow stopped and the sun is shining there. But here in Choctaw it is still snowing steadily.
