Hey Al, I hooked a cell phone charger up to a 12v puter fan, but because it's only 5v as most phone chargers are, the fan runs quite a bit slower. Seems to me that would cause a shortened life span on the fan, wouldn't chya think???

I'm believe as long as it starts good you should be ok, their highest amp draw is at start up. If it starts slow it will burn it up eventually.
