I think I am going to bring a Roo & Hen blue laced red wyandotte that I bought from Foleys, I have hatched lots and lots of chicks. Also thinking of bringing speckled sussex, black copper marans, silver laced wyandotte, split sussex, white rocks -- all of these will be chicks of various ages. I could bring hatching eggs of black copper marans, silver laced wyandotte and lavender orpington if someone was interested.

I'd rent it for the weekend if I was sure it could make it from OKC to Fletcher and back!
That trunk could hold alot of chickens!

I think everything I am bringing is already spoken for!

I worked today on getting traveling cages fixed up. I am going to be loaded to the max! I have a whole bunch of stuff to drop off at my daughters, then all the cages of stuff, and then the lugage!May have to tie some on top or put Brenda up there in a rocking chair!Proably not a good ideal, she would have me tied up there for sure!

I had a broody hen quit the nest today. Thats the first time that has happened. Of course this is her second batch of eggs, but all the others have reset very good. And she set on them for almost a week so now they are ruined. And of course they were "special" hand picked ones I really wanted to hatch too! I sure wish the nights would warm up again, the youg birds are haveing a hard time with cold nights, warm days.
Itook some bread out today and set and watched the young ones chase each other over bites. They are so fun to watch.

i can happily say no losses today- except for the flocks freedom, everytime i went out the door they rushed the gate- pretty bad when i keep apologizing to them- and the hen i lost yesterday, her buddy stood at the gate calling- enough to break your heart, or mine at least! as far as birds i am bringing- a couple nh chicks, about 2 months old and possibly a couple hens, a br, nh, red star just depends on if i have any more losses... thats really got me down- am wanting to get a few bantam cochins, and possibly a duck or two, and anything else that strikes my fancy
