Ok here is an idea that may or may not work. Mix in smaller batches and run through a grist mill with coarse burrs then wet it down and spread it out on a cookie sheet to dry. After it dries just break it up. Or just feed it like that without wetting.

NO IDEA what a grist mill nor where to find one I could use. Guess I will just stick with my good ole fashion way of a bucketful at a time

....thanks for the tip though

A hand operated grain grinder, sometimes they can be found at farm auctions and look a lot like the old coffee grinders but are usually smaller. The burrs are the part inside that cracks the grain and are usually classed as fine, med. and course according to the size of the grain that you want to make. I think a coarse burr will give you pieces the size of grits, med. I think cornmeal and fine will give you flour.

Basically an early food processer. LOL

I don't know about the others, but I wasn't talking about anyone's speech of any kind outside of content. Even there I was teasing.

Truth be told I haven't the slightest idea about showing or breeds and such. I can tell a meat bird from a layer, sometimes the difference between a rooster and hen, and that is about it. Those are the only things that are important to me. I'm hardly one to judge others on breed knowledge or show rules.

As to judging people's writing on the Internet, I'm a librarian for crying out loud. I'd wear myself out!

I want to take the Opportunity at this time to ask that our forum members refrain from the flaming at this time, we are still subject to the BYC rules and we as a group need to do whatever is needed to ensure the livelyhood of our thread. So please guy's tone it down Ok, I am only going to ask once.

Joe, you shouldn't let a little disagreement keep you away from POOPS. Heck, if I let disagreements keep me from socializing with folks I'd never attend anything. A month or two ago when folks were bashing unions (I'm a union president) I almost pulled out of going to POOPS, myself, but wiser heads prevailed and convinced me to take it less personally.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. You shouldn't hold it against them when theirs differs from yours.

For what it is worth.
