I'm still here in the background.

Hated the ice, loved all the snow! Lost one (he'd been less than thrifty), then a hen due to being killed by her rooster.

All else is well, 'cept the gamey youngsters decided this was the perfect time to show themselves. Got a few with beat up heads and busted feet. Hopefully I've got them all contained, will find out when I get home today.

Why are the birds always more interested in eating than drinking the water you had to cart out to them?

Don sorry you won't be able to make it, I know that for all of us coming from the eastern side it will be a longer drive. Hope next year we can move back to a more central place in the state.

For those of you that want to know, I did make it to work, my drive way was the worst, almost got stuck.....don't think I will be parking in my regular spot when I go home.

After a 72 hr shift I am finally home!!! But I do have a new idea for an invention 4 wheel drive, or snow tires for ambulance cots, or even better hover craft technology for the cots because when I was young they promised us hover crafts by now.

Girl I bet you are wore out! Thanks for all you do! I can only imagine tring to move those cots in this snow!

Good morning Everyone,
I hope all of you guys have a blessed and Happy Monday.
Good to hear everyone has managed to dig out of the last snowy blast.
I would like to say that Al and I fully understand that some people can't make it to POOPS due to the distance involved and I am truly sorry for that.
We really did the best we could considering everything involved.
We looked at several other places and none of them offered everything we needed. Some were better in one regard but lacking in others.
The Fletcher site offers everything we need with the exception of a centralized location.
That said however, I think if everone can make it there, it will our best POOPS ever.
Our biggest, number one concern at the events we have had at the KOA, was the weather and what we wouild do if we had a lot of rain. The KOA clubhouse wouldn't hold all of us so an extended rainy day there would have certainly (pardon the pun) dampened our festivities.
At this venue, we will be protected from the weather. This is a big, big plus.
Al and I are planning to make arrangments with some local motels to get discounted rates.
There are plenty of motels in either Chickasha or Lawton.
We will announce that information in the near future.
Al is gonna have the official announcement this week sometime but since so many have beeen asking we decided to go ahead and announce the date and place.
If you have any questions or concerns, please drop me a message or post on our thread.

Thanks,
Monty

Just found something interesting. When you click on a person in the thread to send them a PM, once you are done sending the PM it will shoot you to the first page of the thread instead of your inbox.

Kassaundra there was a man from Henryetta, who spent years working on a hovercarft type thing.
It kinda looked like the Jetson mobile. When I worked at the newspaper there many years ago I went out on different occasions to take pictures and report on his progress.
It would lift off of the ground but he couldn''t get it to where it would sustain itself long enough.
I heard he died in the last year and I don't know if anyone is carrying on his project or not.

So KOA is still mad about the errant rooster?

Thanks for the date guys. I've never been to Fletcher. Don't know if we can make it or not, it is a bit more of a trip. Now I can start scheduling at least and see what we can do.

Thank you Al & Monty for working so hard to find a date and location that can accommodate us. It is a little farther for some but a little closer for some - and in any case, for me it is worth the distance to go to see everyone. I will mark the date on my calendar!
