Good job Deena! You got a good deal on them - I'm happy you found them - now is the fun time when you sit next to the brooder for the next few weeks watching them all run around and grow. I'm glad you got Barred Rocks, too - they are nice birds and usually have fun personalities, and they will lay very well for you.

Looks great coop!

Kassaundra, after seeing how quickly those little things move - you did really great to get that original photograph.

Kassaundra, Is it you that lives in Henrietta? In 1971-1973 we lived in California, while DH was in the USMC. We lived next to a couple from Henrietta. Their names were Tommy and Beverly. Dang, I just suddenly forgot their last name. I have to think on that now. So, they would be in their 50s now. I wonder if they still live there. They had a daughter named Shylah.

Aaahhh, I just remembered their last name is Arnold.

Yes, it took quite a bit of stalking to get that pose. He kept trying to get away the red background is really a rose petal, he kept running into the crevices of the rose or the back side, a few times he decided to stand his ground and he would do the little spidey pushup thing to try and intimidate me. But put the camera in my hand w/ a good macro lens and the promise of a cool insect pic and I can outwait the best of the insects!!!!

A last name would help, My husband and his family are Henryetta natives for a couple of generations, I am more recent the last 15 years.

I just saw where you posted the last name, there are some Arnold's in the area, I'll ask my husband when he comes home if he knows of them.

I am originally from the Henryetta area.
I went to school with Tommy. He was older than me but I know his family. One of his sisters was in my class and his brother was a year younger than me. He still lives in Henryetta, but I am not sure if he and she are still married. Tommy would be 59 or so.
