It is pretty much a major mess here - snow drifts and the snow is coming down sideways. I woke up because it seems so bright outside from the bedroom window and came into the room with the picture window to check - and promptly got my socks wet where the sleet blew up under the sky light and made an ice dam and now blowing snow is drifting in onto the hardwood floor

Towels are now down and and I am going back to bed.

Sure glad I pulled my pet Tom turkey off the top fence railing last night and put him into the barn. He will be 9 years old in May and is the only one of my flock that can't be "replaced"

Sleigh bells ring, are you listening, in the lane, snow is glistening, a beautiful sight, we're happy tonight, walking in a Winter Wonderland.

Okay, I am going back to bed - it will be time soon enough to pull on the overalls and start breaking water for all of the critters - once the snow stops blowing sideways.

Why am I awake? Stupid alarm that wasn't suppose to be on!

Sleet appears to be coming down, hard to tell if it is mixed with snow considering I'm not going out to check. Looks like there is a couple of inches.

Guess I will work from home in my PJ's!!

Oh get this Sat when it was 76 we spent the getting ready for today. Boarding up windows on the chicken houses moving food bowl where they would sstay dry. picking up moved salt to the front and back doors. Well yall know! My wifes unit has been in the field went out last monday. They are sitting out in tents in this crap. Someone at the unit said it was they didnt have time to get everything broken down and moved back in. Guess they never herd of the weather channel. Then some women told me if you really supported the troops I wont be raising hell. (LOL) as you would think I lost it no more mister nice guy. I know trainning is important. but they cant even train in this cause the post is shut down.

Morning Robin~ I haven't heard a rooster yet this morning hopefully all of them are in the nice warm house.

That really stinks having them just sitting out in this mess! I hope they get them out today & don't leave them out there.

did everybody keep power? thats the only thing i was worried about was losing power and the eggs tring to hatch. so far so good. keep checking out back none of ladys are on the move yet.

I'm guessing if anyone has lost power they won't be able to get on the board but everything here is okay. Just went out to check on my chickens. Only had to cover the front of my cages that are off the ground because the snow/sleet is blowing in with this crazy wind. Considering I wasn't out 10 mins. I got very cold. I have no idea what the wind chill is.

Congrats on you guys hatching!! STill too early for me but I am itching to get started.
