My boys keep the sparrows hopping and on edge...why did they bring those things over....

Well...got the sermon done. I like to follow a simple rules. Keep it from the Bible, keep it short, and relate it to life.

We spent most of yesterday in a barn with sheep but I am playing with birds today! and rabbits...and little boys!

............... Now that I gotta see..............

Gotta run and get something done today, catch ya later gators.................

AL

Al- just remember that when catching gators it is best to avoid the bitey end...or people will call you lefty...or stumpy...or history...

you should also practice gator catch and release...if the gator is bigger than your boat...you should release it because at this point it has caught you

Teach, you are a funny man.

So, what's up with Blanchard? Did I read there won't be a sale on the 4th Saturday? Just when things are winding down for me enough so I can go?

Is this a permanent deal or what?

I hadn't thought of the sparrows as being anything more than annoying. I will sprinkle DE around the areas they are roosting and put some in all the nest boxes as well. Thanks for the reminder that they do more than just eat feed.

well, i don't consider them annoying, but do take precautions- for a little more about my pet sparrow-

but i am pretty opinionated- that said, i do get frustrated when they bring in mites etc

just came in from repairing netting and getting the banties back out into their run, after i had the ducks and poser in there during the worst of the weather- they are happy campers again! And barny and captain are back at the glaring routine....

Nearly noon. Took me two cups of coffee to catch up on all the chatter. Babies started hatching yesterday. I'll take pictures when I move the dry ones to the brooder. I'm sure some of these little guys will end up at POOPS. They are active and all seemed to hatch at the same time.

Al - I love your outdoor brooder. Can you post the dimensions for the sides, bottom, and lid sections? I want to build one for the empty space next to my broody pens. Right now my baby brooders are in the basement, my in-between brooders are inside the barn, and fully feathered little ones go into pens outside. My biggest mistake (after looking at your photo, Al), was to put my brooders down low on wooden pallets. It keeps them off the floor, but I have to bend over too much. I like the reach-in height of yours. Thanks for posting the picture.

Wasn't yesterday gorgeous! I could hardly believe it was 63 degrees - just 2 days after we tied State records for all time low temperatures.

Al, you may be putting coffee in your water, but I am putting ice in mine. I like to drink my water ice cold
