Well...wild day yesterday! First the good stuff! Bubba placed first in his class with Tank...then a second in class with twinkle...lost out to the girl friend who is very cute by the way...Tank went on to place 5th in breed and is in the sale!!!

That is major important. Still not sure about the other lamb it was sitting out like 2 places last night so there is a good chance it will make sale!

He did okay in showing...one of our girls fromher placed first so as a school we are super excited. Several folks commented to our ag teacher that her kids did the best job overalll showing...that is the best type of compliment a teacher can get. You can't control quality cuz that has alot todo with how much you can spend but showing is about effort and work..most of our kids did this! There might have been a little grumbling about quality of judging but I wasn't there and it has been done so we will live withit!

might sees ome improvement at the next level!

We are very proud! I did hear that the judge wa cute! high maintenance but cute!

I was thinking Wayne too! I am just not sure that he had the short fat ones that I want.

Teach you are my sunshine too but just like Monty you are too far away for this 300 mph wind. The sun finally peaked out but is hiding again!

Is there ever a show that someone doesn't gripe about the judge? I don't think so.

unfortunately I think judge grumbling is part of showing...I add to it at times and then get ashamed of myself...folks just wanted to see more feeling of animals...

i will try and get closer to light up your life!

That wayne guy has all sorts of cool stuff...I hope he brings his pig!

Ya know you are a chicken family, when your 15 year old daughter saves up her birthday money so that she can buy a POLISH chicken at the next auction and then threatens the parent that she better get to go or she is running away... HA HA HA HA..

Hey Peaches, Please tell me there is a POLISH listed for this next Auction... ha ha ha (she is looking for a silver one)...

Actually, I have interior motives. I want to start making money selling meat birds at the farmers market, and these are supposed to be the most efficient, and the public expects birds to look a certain way. It's a "if you can't beat 'em" kinda thing.

Speaking of farmers markets, ours is having its first meeting tonight, and I'm pretty jazzed up about it. My beef/pork/dairy farmer might be there as I gave him a call today. We need to get some meat in that market, make it more of a Meat Market than a Vegetarian Villa.

I think in Tulsa the meat people at the Farmer's Market do pretty well. Chefs from the local restaurants place orders with the local "meat people" and market their restaurant fare as "locally grown." All the nastiness about Cornish X aside, chickens of any type, when raised with care and on pasture will always be better than the same bird grown by corporations who may not use the natural processes and provide the healthy habitat that the individual farmer/rancher does. I hope you all do well!
