I think this could mae for the ugliest chicken thread soon if we can get someone to cross an EE and a NN a bearded or muffed NN would likely take the prize. Not a prize I want to win but could easily be done.

I caved today and went to Atwoods in Sand Springs. Of course, I knew I wasn't going to get any chicks because I'm not like you all - I have will power. But I set up the brooder before I left, just in case. Thankfully they only had black sex-links and golden-laced Wyandottes in the pullet bin. I thought about getting a couple of GLW for a minute, but I don't know if they lay very well so I didn't get any. But Jack was with me, and he said "you wanna try the Atwoods in Sapulpa?" So of course, I had to go - I mean HE obviously wanted to...

They had some chipmunk white-legged single-comb chicks - I think they might be Speckled Sussex! I looked carefully at their tiny almost-not-there combs because I don't want dark cornish. They also had yellow peeps with black spots. I got two of each - you know, just so Jack would be happy for me and could listen to them cheep insanely loudly the whole way home. When he asked me what kind the spotty ones were I answered "I think California Whites or Ideal 236." He looked at me and said "Those sounds like drug names!" He's about right, I guess.

They settled right in to the brooder. They will be good additions to the new layers I'm getting from Poco and perhaps from others of you. Now my goal is to NOT go back and get two GLWs from Sand Springs...

They're actually Olive Eggers and Frizzles. The Frizzles are supposed to have a chance of being NN, so if they hatch out I was planning on bringing them to POOPS.

If they were Buckeye eggs, you would probably be seeing my face on the news.

We raise olive eggers and frizzle naked necks. We also have some blue copper colored olive egger roosters over some blue frizzle naked necks and currently collecting their eggs to incubate.

Good evening everyone. I've been bored with not being able to work, but I get to go back on Friday. In my down time, I've been playing with some pics. I thought I'd share.

Can you make a frizzled, NN, EE? That might be real interesting..

Don't feel bad, i wont allow them to contaminate our incubator or hatcher with NNs. I am afraid it may be contageous and I would never get it out of there.

LOL whewwwww !!!!! good thing I thought it was just me, I think there Ok but just not for me I quess.

Good idea though Kisa they would do well in the donation auction

AL

If they are blue they will be even more popular. NN is the breed of the season and blue is the color.
