You have found a wonderful group of folks who either live in Oklahoma or wish they lived in Oklahoma

This is a great thread to find out about poultry auctions in Oklahoma and where to get any poultry you might want to add to your flock. Do you hatch eggs? Maybe we can convince that it is really fun and help you expand your flock quickly.

Disclaimer: Some of the folks on this thread have addictions to attending poultry auctions, hatching eggs and acquiring poultry. Since addicts tend to be enablers, we may try to assist you in acquiring some of the same addictions.

Hi Ms. Maribeth,

i just mentioned earlier how much I have been missing you and some others. Maybe we'll run into each other at a sale or gathering soon.

Me too. I have trouble keeping track of what sales are when. I just rely on information i pick up while scanning these pages when I can. I'll see you there.

south of Tulsa in the tri city surburb area of jenks, glenpool and sapulpa. We have only an acre of land, but love the chickens. Inatially got them because we thught our grandchildren might enjoy it,but we r hooked. We havea small cheap bator and hatched 6 eggs last fall, ended up with 3 hens and 2 roos, one of which was a cuckoo maran. Just now getting our feet wet in the byc thing.I enjoy all the info and posts.

Does anyone know if we crossed an olive egg layer with a barred rock roo or black australorp roo if the offspring would still lay the olive eggs? I have several eggs that I want to hatch, but want to kep the olive eggs if possible, would love to have some blue to go with them for the bator too.

Hatching eggs can be addicting

I started out with chickens by buying some barred rock pullets at our local swap meet 8 years ago and then my addiction grew. My husband and I have over a hundred chickens, nearly a hundred turkeys, and a few ducks and peacocks. We've even sold hatching eggs all over the country on eBay and thru BYC. I'm trying to cut back on the chickens .... but it would probably require one of those intervention programs similar to drug or alcohol abuse to stop me now. This is too much fun

It's especially fun to visit with all the other Okies here that share the same passion.

I hope to visit with ya'll in person some day .... at an auction or swap meet or the People of Oklahoma Poultlry Swap (POOPS) in May!
