That is great! Wonder if it will be too far away for it to be any help to me.

I am working on it so we can all benefit from the pricing but it will require some planning to get it together. maybe regional pick up or something. The current pricing is making a big difference in comparison to what else is out there it averages $5-6 a bag cheaper.

Hey i will do some checking at my local feed store . its owned by two brothers and one of them is a sales rep for A&M. Is laying feed all that everyone is interested in or would it be several different feeds...

I have better pricing than you will get from them based on the feed I want, they have agreed to make what I like and believe me everyone will enjoy this feed. We are discussing this with several to a comitment for 5 Tons which is what I need to order, I currently have 3 of the 5 spoken for so 80 bags to go.

Look, there are lots of things in life I don't get. I don't get NASCAR, for instance, and don't see the point in target shooting for fun once you achieve a certain level of accuracy. I can't see spending tens of thousands of dollars restoring old cars, climbing mountains in the biting cold, or running 35 mile races not even to win but to just do it.

I also don't get a lot of things I see on BYC. I raise chickens and turkeys for meat and what I can sell that meat for. I can't grasp the "pet chicken" thing. I don't understand the appeal of bantams or pigeons and I sure don't get your show thing. For me, that would be a complete waste of time, energy, and money.

But know what? That's just me. I understand everybody is different. I doubt people here like reading the classics like I do, or butchering their own chickens, or beating their heads against the wall trying to abide by the rules of the farmers market czars just so they can sell a few eggs and birds to the public that wants them. That's what makes life great. People doing different things for different reasons.

I've learned to not only be tolerant of differences among people, I've learned to embrace it. To enjoy it.

One last thing: genetics do make a difference. You can't just throw a couple of birds together and get a lasting breed. It has to be worked at and studied. And people working to keep all these blood lines and breeds alive is a good thing. Genetic differences are what make a species survive during stressful times. Because all these breeds are being preserved and identified, genetic differences are maintained against future stresses on the environment that comes as a result of disease, drought, or other severe trauma.

Lighten up, dude. Live and let live. Life's too short.

City - I sent you a PM. I've got a meeting with you on the calendar for "some time on Saturday." We'll get together online before then to make sure we both end up in the same place at the same time.

Grace - I sent you a PM. If 4:00 Tuesday doesn't work for you, please let me know. Also, I need directions.

Jeannie - Victoria is anxious to make the drive. We'll see you at noon. Also, I need directions. It's been nearly a year since I drove to your place. Your blog is awesome, by the way. I love the photo of A. building the pen for the roos.
