Sounds to me that you already have it going on, I mean water, food, a dry and warm place to live and good parent stock... The rest is pretty much in natures hands. If you do everything that you can and they still don't make then it was meant to be. Just saying !,
Good luck with your little ones

Thanks Don . I was just wondering if i should be giving them anything extra like vitamins or anything.. i got these from a local hatchery so not sure about the parent stock but i do hope to get some different laying breeds from some of you good folks on here that have some great parent stock . i have been learning from here that hatchery chicks are not close to getting them from breeders. i am looking to either buy or make a bator so i can get some eggs from the folks here so i will have some good stock..thanks
You know I am sure a lot of the fellow okies have great stock, my belief is that not all chicks that are hatched from show stock are going to become show stock..and that not all hatchery stock are bad..you get what you can afford.
Most chickens are just that chickens..if you like them that should be all that matters, over the years I have all kinds. I like the pretty ones
And the ones that lay good eggs on a daily bases..
I believe that most of the hatcheries get they eggs from breeders as it would be really hard for them to have so many breeds of they own.
You know like sub contractors they buy the eggs hatch them and then sell the chicks, so I would say all by chickens are breeder stock.
I hope you get my drift and the I don't made anyone else mad at me. All of the above is just my opinion
Don
