Our clinic recipe is equal parts peroxide, dawn dishsoap, and baking soda. Nothing takes all the smell out but never pay high prices for products that claim the take away skunk smell, they don't work. The homemade recipe is the best I've ever used and its about as safe as you can get.

One more of my babies hatched it is a silkie!

Betsy we are not sure what color it is going to be but it is one of the eggs from you!

Oh, that's great. They were from the self blue nonbearded, so they should be self blue (lavender). It'll be a big surprise if it isn't. My chicks from them always look gray with somewhat muted stripes on their backs. They will feather out evenly. They're darling, tiny birds! Enjoy!​

It was COLD and windy at the Guy Rose Auction this morning. SplitSocket is a wonderful friend, neighbor, advisor and helper; my husband appreciates him, too, as HE doesn't have to feel he should do it! Met Carla and Gerald to deliver some silkies to her, and she again bought most of the others I brought. Chris was there as well. There was a MUCH smaller crowd today, but I appreciated it! It wasn't nearly so crowded, parking was easier to find, and it went faster for us. There were I'd guess 10 - 12 boxes of 15 each of several varieties of chicks, several other varieties of chickens, rabbits, pigeons (looked to me like a common variety, but what do I know?), some geese, ducks, a pair of peafowl, a couple of turkeys, several cages of guinea fowl, a puppy, and several antique type nest boxes and a bit of other equipment. I don't know how prices were for others, but I was happy with mine.

Saving several colors of nice silkies and a very few showgirls for POOPS.

Carla, did Gerald find many things he couldn't do without at the junk side? Lots of good junk, though. Hay as well.

Cold and windy here, but no rain today.

Donnie - I'd swear the Light Sussex have grown two inches taller since I got them from you. These are the least fearful birds I've ever raised. I hope they remain inquisitive and do not become bashful as they get older. It's really nice to put a hand out and not have the bird back away. Picking them up is easy. They don't seem to mind, but they do bite buttons and earrings if you hold them too high.

Little Sooner - Congratulations on hatching your silkie. I hope it turns out to be a keeper.

And I'm not sayin you can't use it for paint remover, you can also remove paint with plain old water but I wouldn't caution you about its use in dogs. Its a very safe recipe, rest assured. I've never seen an adverse affect in thousands of applications with every breed you can imagine. I've deskunked just a few myself.
