I was making soap last fall for Christmas, it wasn't that hard & my family won't use anything else now. I have also made the laundry soap. My DH have very sensitive skin & itches if I change anything. He does very good on both. I haven't tried the goats milk soap, one because I don't have the milk & two because the heating up process that can happen with it. The thread has alot of good information & there are message board that are about nothing but soap & bath salts ect.

Where you been? Nana could have used your help with all the questions we threw at her....LOL

She knows alot more than me, I'm sure she is the one that answered all my questions.

Actually, I am enjoying the discussion of soap. I recall helping my grandmother make lye soap when I was younger. She would save all the grease from the meat she cooked and we would cook the soap in a large iron pot in her backyard and then pour it into a 6 foot long frame to set up. It didn't smell very good, but it was good for just about anything. She shaved it into laundry soap, washed her dishes with it, and kept from getting poison ivy by washing with it after she picked blackberries.

This is a good site.
Also there are videos on making soap.
I use goats milk in some recipes.
Honey can brown the soap.

Thanks P&B...I've also made soaps from bacon grease that was cleaned in milk as an experiment....it worked great.

Robin thought you would like to see the comments on your little NN hen over on the photography site: I was never into Naked Necks, but she is absolutely adorable, in a "so ugly she's cute" kind of way. The first picture especially shows her confidence, that she knows she's beautiful and if you don't see that too, well then you're an idiot. She should be an ambassador for maligned Naked Necks everywhere.
The comment was agreed on w/ several other posters.

And yes Hobby Lobby has soap making supplies

Maribeth, thanks for the compliment on the pics. I really enjoy photography, it is a stress reliever for me. She was so hyper it took many attempts to get those shots, I got alot of shots w/ her blurred or w/ her head missing!
