Yes... The dip seems to leave and oily residue which makes it harder to get in the feathers and get everything off.... The shampoo seems to wash off bugs and eggs easily and has a residuel(spelling) effect for 4 weeks to stop eggs from hatching and kill anything else that touches them.. We still havent noticed anything on the birds from the last time we dipped about 2 weeks ago but we had such a hard time with mites last year we just want to redo to be on the safe side.

So you just fill up a bucket with shampoo and water and dip the birds in it? Or do you use new shampoo on every bird??

Sorry, forgot to answer the how.... I mixed it really strong just to make sure. I used a 5 gallon bucket, filled it with warm water, then mixed half the shampoo bottle in it. I promise this was strong because I mixed the same amount of shampoo in a 70 quart muck bucket and got just as good results.

Oh ok then just start dipping birds Got it. One question though you let them just air dry without rinsing right? I remember carl saying something about just air dry on a nice day.

Yes, just air dry... Try to keep the chicken as calm as possible, the more they flap around in the bucket the more suds you will get. We dip them, wash the chicken with our hands getting into their feathers as best as possible without getting rough with the feather, then we ring them out so to speak( we run our fingers down the feathers to try to squeeze the excess water off). We dont rinse. After that we flip the chicken upside down to get them to flap and loosen their feathering back up so they will dry a little quicker. Depending on the bird it might take them close to all day to dry so we start as early as the weather will permit.
