Things I have done:
Added extra hay/shavings for deep litter in all coops
Closed (at least) three sides to all small cages
added feed sacks & hay to any cage that is off the ground to stop some air flow
Cookie tin heaters for all gallon water's so there is no frozen water.
Feed scratch in the morning & evening.
**in the ice like they are talking about I will move feed inside the coop so they can stay in if they want.
In the year that we went 14days without electric, I never lost a bird. Yes a few got some frost bite on their combs but there wasn't much I could do about it.
