AL I have to ask this question as I have hatched around 200 different cornish type chicks in the last 4-5 months. You said the chipmunk are WLR enlighten me to why Everyone of my darks have that pattern when hatched but None of my WLR ever have it. My whites come out Solid yellow and my blues are white and blue, or grey so to speak. What makes your birds look like darks? yet there WLR? In my experience my WLR come out a redish color with more white spots in them. More like the chick your calling hulk? well I just did some research online to see if it was a error on my part and the chicks online reflect my hatches? I know your the Cornish pro here but I am seeing darks and WLR chicks in those pics. I have 17 WLR hatching soon and 10 BWC 25 Standard darks and 6 BDC.
So what makes your reds look more like darks?

I took it...called me an OEGB...I do not think it is right..

Matt : I can assure you there are no Darks anywhere in the mix. These were not my egg's and they came from a SQ WLR Rooster Over a Solid White hen. Charley and I do not have a White standard Rooster who can produce fertile egg's on a regular basis, so we are using the WLR rooster and are getting at least 50/50% WLR & Whites. This is the only way we can get whites at this time, you gotta do what you gotta do in this stuation.

Now non SQ Cornish chicks who's parents are Jubilee or all blurry in their markings may have different looking chicks, then again there are quite a few chicks with similar markings in the chicks stage. I know what we got going so I am very confident in their color outcome.
