Good Morning

Good morning all!

Love the website Poco - especially the picture of the little barred cockeral trying to crow!

Great to see Doc checking in - thank you for everything, Doc!

June - your frizzles look great - the little taupe chick sure has an interesting color.

All the birds and all the water pipes I've checked seem to have survived the night, although the temp is still in negative integers. On the radio they're saying there is a water rescue in progress - six people out of the Spring River up by Miami and Quapaw. Lord be with the victims and rescuers all.

Watching a water rescue on OKC channel 9...rescue is near Miami. An SUV went over the barrier into the river. Ha a big fall to the river. River frozen, divers and 5 helicopters trying to rescue.

Morning folks! Cold here too but not as bad as there. I am doing good ,already got everything watered and the first laid eggs gathered.most of my hens are early morning layers. I am trying to get them before they chill so I can save them for Donnie!

Wow ,hope that water rescue goes well! What would anyone be doing out on the water in this weather!

Junebug that roo is so pretty, now that would turn me into a frizzle lover!lol

Sad, I think the rescue has turned into a recovery. Probably 5 people. The bridge they went over was over 100 above the river.

I just heard that the med copters say "most" of their flights are rescue flights - we hope it remains so. Doodle - it appears it is a Chevy Avalanche that lost control on the bridge and went over.

Wayne, I haven't dicided if I like the Frizzles or not. I just like trying new things...it takes so much room, I can't do everything I want to do. The Silkied Serama are my real love.

Just heard the water rescue ..now 6 helicopters..is still a rescue operation.

watching it too, looks like they have transported them to joplin- nope springfield, and they are bringing out another one- so they need lots of prayer for the rescuers too

So did my morning thing and the chickens are still fine. Even with this freezing weather. They have even being going out side cause there is poop all over the hay I layed outside. And their coop is pretty clean. (Can chickens be potty trained lol?) Their water was frozen, but the egg that my cornish laid wasn't, so it must have been fresh. She laid two yesterday. We have had them 7 days and I have gotten 7 eggs from her. (She missed one day and then laid two yesterday). So much for cornish being poor layers. She lays better than the ee.

Nothing on the chicks yet. I am thinking about doing the float test to put myself out of my misery. We had some issues with the incubator in the beginning, but when I candeled it looked like we had 5 good eggs.

Today is day 21 and nothing, nothing at all. Should I wait or just see?
