I guess I am going to give up waiting for the snow to begin falling and go to bed. The wind is fierce enough to take shingles off the roof, but if we are not going to get snow - I will have to go to work tomorrow.

Good night all

It just started, darn weather guessers. I was hoping to wake up with a winter wonderland in my yard.

Robin, I hope the almanac is wrong. That'd put a heck of a damper on the fruit trees and spring crops!

We had a major ice and snow storm March 19, 2010 so it isn't unprecedented.
I am just glad that this storm appears to be only snow - I didn't hear any sleet before it started. Of course, it hadn't yet started in OKC at 12:30 when I went to bed - but we had several inches of snow on the ground at 4:30 am when I woke up because it seemed so bright outside.

Good thing we postponed all the Wednesday and Thursday meetings at the office, until next week

We definately have several inches of snow with more blowing around and down.

Oh, good! I hope you're enjoying them! I know they can possibly bring in problems, but we believe it is soooo important to feed them; especially in weather like this.

We counted at least 22 male cardinals at our feeders a few minutes ago. That, of course, means at least 44 cardinals as they are usually all accompanied by mates. We also frequently see blue jays, juncos, brown thrashers, redwing blackbirds, red bellied woodpeckers, nuthatches, chickadees, tufted titmice,
several varieties of sparrows (no house sparrows), bewicks wrens, the little tiny woodpeckers (can't think of their names right now), an occasional rufous sided towhee, and several other varieties. We both thoroughly enjoy watching them. Vashi has just now gone out to spread a tarp and put out more feed in the feeders and on the ground, as they're having a hard time getting the seeds out of the feeders that are covered with snow.

No smaller than 1/2", put paper towels over it for a few days....I use 1/2" inch for Bobwhite quail chicks and they do fine.

I raise bantams and this is what I do also. If it is smaller than 1/2", the poop won't fall through.
