Yes, there are some folks from the Antlers area, Spiro, and some other places in SE Oklahoma area on here. Tell us a little about yourself - what kind of poultry you have and what kind you would like to acquire?

Bo Garrett here, from Garvin, Ok. Been raising and showing poultry of all kinds for about 40 years. Currently focus on several varieties of large cochins and black bantam cochins. Been all over the U.S. and I love and wouldn't live anywhere but S.E. Oklahoma.
Glad you are here.

Lynn - I'm distracted and can't grade the last of these papers because I've got rooster fever. I took a look at the babies in the brooder, they're fine, so I'm going back to my stack of student work. Oh yeah, I unloaded the kiln today. I fired the last batch of student work and now I think we're officially ready for our art show. I took a few pictures. I would have been taking pictures all night to avoid grading papers, so I made myself stop at two. Here are a few examples of the ceramics my students created.

We started with hand-building and then I taught a unit on slip casting. I think the kids liked slip casting more than anything else we've done all year. They did a great job glazing, too. I introduced crystalline glazes and taught kids how to hold a tiny brush for detail work. Pictured above are a few projects poured using the southwestern molds I brought to class. Other projects (I don't have pictures of) include unicorns, coffee mugs, tree ornaments, and vases.

Glad to see you posting on the Okie thread. It has been a long time - and you have been putting together poultry shows in SE Oklahoma in the meantime.
