I am looking for True Cuckoo Marans, Welsumers, and Wyandottes chicks or Pullets in the Tulsa Area. Anyone close have these? I'm looking for 15-20 chicks of each or 10-12 Pullets and a Cockrel of each breeds. I have looked on Craigslist and I haven't found any healthy True Breed Birds. If you can help me I would appreciate it! Thank you,

-Nate

Yes, there are some folks from the Antlers area, Spiro, and some other places in SE Oklahoma area on here. Tell us a little about yourself - what kind of poultry you have and what kind you would like to acquire?

Hey guys, I am from Broken Bow and am interested in raising some show quality Ameraucana chickens for my kids to enter in the local fair. I am also interested in Wellsummers and Silver Spangled Hamburgs. I have always wanted to incubate eggs and finally built an incubator about a month ago. So far Ive hatched out 23 chicks 12 barnyards and 11 Barred Rocks. Most likely will let my boy show some of the Barred Rocks, but doubt that they are show quality.

If anybody knows where I can get some eggs for the breeds listed above please let me know. I kinda would prefer to obtain some locally because I didnt get a good hatch rate from the Barred Rocks that I bought off of Ebay.

Michael - thank you for posting this information. I was wondering about the facilities and if there would be anywhere one could safely leave birds if need be.

Who was it that was building and selling cages at POOPS last year? I am in the market for some nice cages this year if they are available.

Okay - "back to work" time for me. Will be out all week but will try to sneak a post in now and then...hope everyone's week goes well!

City, That was us that were building those cages... What kind of cages are you needing... I also have some cages that are 6 and 7 hole cages that I would be glad to part with.

My husband and I are from Broken Bow or should I say were before the Military called again and we ended up in Cyril america.... We still come home when we get a chance...

abritton,
We have a poultry club locally known as the Southeast Oklahoma Poultry Club, we began in 2000 and have had a show most every year since at the McCurtain County Fair Grounds in Idabel. We recently, last weekend, had to cancel a show due to some last minute issues but are planning a fall show. We are certainly in need of working members who can help set up and tear down shows. We currently have only three members locally to set up and a few that come from futher away that stay and tear down the show. If you are interested I'll let you know when the next club meeting is scheduled.
Glad to know you are interested in showing, highly addictive and a great place to meet poultry folks and get excellent breeding and show stock.

Blessings to you,

Bo

There are some folks in the OKC area with very nice Cuckoo Marans (OKCarla) and Wyandottes (SJarvis00). If you don't find what you want in Tulsa, we are pretty good at "chicken trains" to get chickens from point A in Oklahoma to point B in Oklahoma.

Chicken Train? I haven't heard of that. Is that where a few people get together and pretty much hand off the birds to someone else to get them from point A to B?
