here is what i learnd about keeping eggs before hatching

eggs can be stored at room temp 65/70 for 7/10 day with no drop in hatch rate after 10 days rate starts to drop but eggs can still be viable up to 21 days

on turing eggs before setting
turning eggs before setting makes no diferance in hatch rate if eggs are set within 7/10 days if you plan on keeping the eggs longer than 10 days befor setting then eggs can be turned to help keep them viable but this only improves the hatch rate by less then 0.5% so if you are hacting in small batches you will not notice any diferance in hatch rate but if you are hatching in verry larg scal then you will ( if your hatch 1,000 eggs you will have about 5 more chicks

Have any of you Okies had good experience at the 412 Auction in Inola? I am wanting to buy 100-200 Chicks. I have heard that they are or can be expensive on the laying hens. I haven't heard anything on the cost of chicks. Any suggestions? Thank you!
