Evening all, dropping in to let everyone know I am alive, I stayed home today and I did, slip in and read some post but mostly fought with this stupid computer crashing every time I turned it on!!! I got 43 eggs today!!! I stayed home from work today because I didn't sleep much last night due to my shin hurting so much and my hand and shoulder sore from working on cages all day Sun. so I took it easy today and relaxed with lots of Tylenol and Ibuprofen to keep me company!!! Fixed Spaghetti for supper (suace from a can with my additives!!!) Eating Reeses, Hersys kisses, and Rolos now for desert!!!! LOL Lynn

been there- actually i make dave do it.... heart breaking! i always swore after my Duchess, i would let them die naturally- but that only works part of the time- sometimes you do what you have to do- one suggestion in the future- whenever there is any animal attack, the bird needs antibiotics- i don't know if it would matter in this situation though- but cats have a bacteria in their saliva that will kill a bird in 24 hours- from my wildbird rescue experience- so pack a wound with at the minimum neosporin and give oral or injectable antibiotics

on another note- i can't eat commercial chicken, after getting involved with chickens and helping promote the rescue of battery hens in the UK, by doing an art series of them-

We did use topical triple antibiotic ointment, but didn't have any oral or injectable, by the time we could get some the infection had gotten to bad, and the back end injuries that I at first thought was just defeathering and abrasions, turned out to be more signigicant. It wasn't a survivable injury, but I was at work and Gary could patch her up but not mercy kill her.

poor little thing! he tried! that really is important

Greybear glad I ain't the only one withna major sweet tooth!lol
Didn't know Texas had fires, sounds like they are big. We sure don't have that problem,6 1/2 inches of rain today! I gained a new flock of ee bantams. They are small ! About a third bigger than oegb! Always wanted sow small ones.
