Sounds like you had a bust day Joe! Man we had enough rain to float the ark! And tomorrow it's supposed to snow! I left a bunch of nest eggs today hoping some more hens would take the hint!

it works the trick is you have to keep moving them so often as a hawk will realize there stationary quickly and want to test the water Especially young hawks who are hard headed.

i've hung cd's around since last year- they swing in the breeze - haven't had a hawk attack, have had flyby's - and some observers- but i wouldn't depend on that only- at this point i only let them free range a short time each day though

It was COLD here today. I did not enjoy the weather. The sun looked like it was going to come out a couple of times, but I guess it was too cold for it because it never did really shine.
Jack alway says "A day without sunshine is like night."

I was home all day chained to the computer so I let the clucks out to pick around in the yard, dust bathe and poop in front of my back door. I have one little RIR that hops over the back fence and sometimes ends up in the front yard. I'll look out my office window and see her out there. Thank goodness she always comes to me when I go out so it's easy to pick her up and return her to the back yard. I keep telling her that someday it will be a stray dog that walks up to her when she's out of the yard and that will be the end of her, but she is still young and thinks she is invincible.
