Well, I posted a couple of weeks ago and introduced myself, then promptly dissappeared due to a car accident in which I totaled my van

But all is well, no one was injured, I have a new Honda CR-V and all is well in my world.

I made it over to the Muskogee auction Friday night and bought three little naked neck chicks (black) and a naked neck rooster for my nn hens. I couldn't resist. My teen son is in love with the naked necks and has them all named and spoils them rotten - what's a mom to do??

The rest of my hens are all doing well, enjoying the spring bounty and dust bathing. Have 15 3-week old chicks that are ready to comw out of the brooders and go into something bigger. Hubby and sons are working on that for me.

So in short, I'm back and still loving my chickens

Thanks Monty - I appreciate your input. I will shoot them in the back of the head next time I'm out there. I was excited that they really do have single combs...so that means they're not Cornish...right?

You scared me for aa moment but then I realized you meant with a camera. At least that is what I hope you meant. They could be Welsummers. One of them just doesn't look like the right color pattern. Keep posting pics as they grow and change.
I have never had Brown leghorn chicks but I guess they could be single comb BL's.
Where did you get them?
I don't think they are Cornish.

I got them at Atwoods out of the "banded pullets" bin. I have raised one BL hen, and I don't remember her being this light colored or slow to feather as a chick. She had darker, thicker eye liner lines too - here is a photo I have of the Brown Leghorn to compare. Now I'm going outside to shoot these little chicks' heads...
