It's alway's great to read your story's an i alway's lern something new from other's..It dont matter if you have one hen or a hundred or if you payd 100each for thim or if they are just cross breed's..
I had a mixd hen that i wouldnt take any thing for she hatch out some chick's for the first time an one of thim got in the water bowl an couldnt get out wen i came in from work it was so week it couldnt stand up but the hen never left it...I sit it down an she went to it an sat on it tel it was warm..I could hear it start cheaping very lightly i could tel it was ok ..Most hen's would have left the chick an went on ..She hatch out lot's of o.e egg's i put under her..
So that is wat bring's us all together hear is are love for are bird's..An think you all for the great pic's you postd,,Me an the kid's injoy looking at thim all!!!!!

As for dying the brown eggs, we just used the dye tablets that come with the Paas egg coloring kits, and added vinegar. We tested it out on the brown eggs, and found out we had to leave them in the dye quite a bit longer than with the white ones, but they came out with a much richer color. The photos don't really show the true colors, but they are pretty. It would be interesting to see what the blue or green eggs would turn out like, but I don't have a chicken that lays those color eggs. Maybe someone will try it and post their pics here for us.
