haven't planted yet- waiting another couple weeks, and will be doing containers this year- a bit easier than trying to break through the rock that is so insidious around here!

Yeah that rock is fun. We will start working on the garden soon but for now everything I have planted is in containers.

Off to do hair!

You have found a wonderful group of folks who either live in Oklahoma or wish they lived in Oklahoma.

Are your daughters wanting to "show" chickens for 4-H?
Are you wanting birds that will lay a nice size egg and a bird of sufficient size it can be processed for meat when it is no longer useful for laying eggs?
(I am just asking the questions, I don't know the answers - but someone else will - based on your goals)
Are you wanting to begin with day old chicks or with older birds?
Will your chickens "free range" or have an enclosed run?
Someone will come along with suggestions once we understand a little more about what you want

One thing we are really good at is "enabling" our fellow Okies in the acquisition of a variety of poultry ~ in quantities beyond their ability to house them without building more pens.
