No, when you breed a blue over a blue, you can count on getting around 25% splash or sport, everyone has their own terminology on it...they are expected, that is why a lot of people dont breed blue varieties, and even fewer breed blue over blue. You breed a brown red to a lemon blue, you only get brown red and lemon blue, no sports, you only get sports with blue on blue, or if you breed a sport to a blue, or sport to sport...or splash, however you prefer...

Thats the first time I've heard of a splash being called a sport. I've learned it as being black or white that crops up out of a wheaten line. Then there are throw back patterns like you get in game fowl. Splash is normal when breeding blue to blue. I am one of the breeders that does not breed for splash in certain breeds like my cubalaya and asil.

Maribeth sorry I did not get to your garage sale but it is probably for the best, I need to have one myself and get rid of all my stuff. My goal is to decrapify my life this year.

I wish I could have gotten on earlier to tell MJ my millie fleur cochin hen started laying this week. Stuck her eggs under a broody hen so hopefully we will have babies in a few weeks.
The bright point in my week was when one of the turkey eggs I got from Carla and Gerald hatched and I bought two from a lady outside of Norman. So now I have three sweet turkey babies and they are of course the cutest things in the world. Also when I was at Atwoods this week I found two sultan chicks, they had more but the legs were willow colored. They are really sweet babies and everyone is getting along so well.

Well the last few weeks have just been chocked full of crap and was totally freaked about Greybeard's on Facebook about MM but actually not totally surprised just sadden. After the week I have had I decided to take a mental health day tomorrow so this is a long weekend for me.

Still have a bunch of things to do but now I have an extra day.

So who is going to Blanchard on Saturday??? I am really jonsing for an auction. Not really looking for anything in particular just wanting to hang with people how love chickens. Of course, I have been craving nachos.

Well I going to finish up on Farmville then head to bed. Hope to see everyone at Blanchard and am counting the days til POOPS.

was busy for 2 days and didn't get to read any posts
took 3 days to catch up wow
got 37 fbcm chicks the other day
that puts my chick count to about 152
with 50 or so more coming guess i better start
on those coops or i will be really behind lol
hope none of the fires got to anyone they were
about a 1/4 mile from my cousins then the wind changed
thank goodness
sure feel for the one that lost
been there it's sure is hard

Finally caught up with all the news in between keeping hubby comfortable with ice packs, heat packs and pain meds, ice cream.....this too shall pass.
