Well the cold front got here and luckly there were no tornadoes! They say the main storms are not here yet but it has cooled enough that I don't think it do much but maybe be noisy. It did rain just a little tho. I had to come inside,so I did the laundry and ironing and vaccumed the house. Now take a break before starting supper!
Hey Teach I got 11 more guniea pigs this weekend. Already have six sold, they are short haired ones. I like the curly haired ones. I have six of those too!
And between evertyhing else I opened the pool! Not that it will be warm enoygh to use for a couple of months but I like to look at it!

I got 4 pigs this weekend! Three females and a male...they were curly and such...one should have babies any day judging by the ways yu judge that an animal is gonna have babies...

those are the whimpiests birds on the planet! I can't keep them alive to save my...well...their lives!

I have tried various times to get some polish running around...I have decided that I will buy crested crosses at auctions for next to nothing and enjoy them because the real polish just get the..well...there is stuff outside fo them that should be inside of them when my birds get done with them.

Roger cut a tire into two circles through the tread. We use one in the lot for salt and mineral when we have a few cows penned up. The other half we set out by the fence to the pasture for the geese. We have to empty it if there is rain...when that ever happens!

I've been researching "shelters for geese and ducks" that encourage the wild ones to nest in our area. Boxes attached to trees near the water line for wood ducks and old tires attached on top of raised platforms near the water for the geese. I'll have to study the geese habitat one since I can't figure out how the geese will possibly land on that small of a platform.....????

So sorry about your freezer. That would be frustrating.
Did you know that your chickens will cheerfully eat any old meat, vegetables, etc. that you toss in the pen? Glad to see that your hubby slept two 4-hour blocks at a time. That means that you also had the opportunity to get some uninterrupted sleep. Take care of yourself so you can take care of hubby.

I gave them the fruit and the peas and beans, but didn't know about the meat. I guess balogna, hot dogs, steak, hamburger, and Tom Turkey would have been a lot of protein....would it need to be cooked first?

I haven't seen a chicken cook a bug or mouse before eating it so......

I am being a pain....they do fine on raw meat.
