I see you're from Big Cabin, Oklahoma! That is so interesting! My dad was born there back in 1934. I've had the pleasure of visiting the area a few times, including one time when my dad & uncles were back there for a school reunion years ago. Love that big old school. I guess it's still closed down?

Can anyone help me as to why my hatches in my LG are extremely low. this last hatch 6 hatched 2 of them were late and did not make it. Loaded 41 eggs, 15 nonfertile, the first one to pip never did anything more. I have a turner and was watching the water closely. The 4 that hatched good were the ones closest to the turner motor. I don't have any in my new bator yet because 2 hans went broody and all the eggs from the last week are under them. mostly Lt Brahma.

Jim : Those LG's can be the most finicky bators I have ever heard of, they need to be tweeked a bunch, but can't say for sure what the problem may be.

Sorta, an Indian nation (I want to say Cherokee, but can't remember) bought it and has a preschool in there as well as some offices that deal with some different things. honestly not real sure what all they do in there, though.
not many people have ever heard of bc, but it's neat when they have.

Jim : Do you have a good Hygrometer/thermometer combo in there ???, if not they are a must have for better hatches. I keep 3 in mine when I am hatching.

It's such a nice town that I wish wasn't off a toll road or I'd visit it more often when driving that direction. I HATE TOLL ROADS. I'm sure glad that old school hasn't been demolished and is still useful. I really liked the old gymnasium. My dad played basketball there ... or at least I heard he did. When we were there, I saw a picture of him as a teenager along with other boys wearing basketball uniforms.

I know I am on a BYC BREAK... but I wanted to pop on here and say our Naragensett Hen is BROODY
ya.gif
she has 13 well fertilized eggs of her own and 3 fertilized chicken eggs she has decided to brood on too! (found her nesting in the wood pile after she went MIA for nearly 2 days... and when she got off the nest long enough to eat a bit and drink we made a count and look over on the eggs

I must say though its a bout time... we were begining to wonder if she would give us some babies as last year our Bronze was the only Hen that went broody but now that our bronze turkeys are freezer treats... I guess she realized she didnt want to be a bitter spinster after all..... minus the 25 cats..lol...

Anyhow I hope you all had a wonderful weekend
