I live on top of the hill in Henryetta and my yard is a lake (or at least a pond). I am very glad for the rain, but do you think it is too much to ask that we get it spread through the year?

Okay I will admit I was part of the group who encouraged this purchase.

hehehe

And I of course was sitting right next to her in a circle along with Marbeth & Carla, Gerald, MJ, Rebecca, and Stephanie. Our newby friend didn't stand a chance and if the bidding went to a $100.00 we would have not let up, she was inniated last night, she didn't buy any chickens so we have to work on that.
I made the comment to her that she wasn't buying anything and she said they have to have better junk for her to bid, that had us all rolling on the floor. I think she will fit in just fine LOL.

In the first pic, Rooster Thor looks like he has a bit of an Easter hangover! Sorry to hear he was hurt!

Dh and I just got done covering a couple of our raised beds. We just planted seeds early last week and two of the beds are flooding. Grrrrr......

Obviously no work on the coop today. Maybe later this week we'll get some progress made.

When I got home last night Joe was already asleep so I told him about my new cochin this morning. He grumbled before he even saw her and said something about "Lets go see this fryer." I said, "You don't have a pot big enough."
When he went into the garage I heard, "Holy Geeze" and some sailor language. He forgot how big they can be.
He said I suppose you need are going to get a male too. Then I showed him the 3 Silver-laced chicks. I put them in with my week old mille fleur and partridge chicks. The 2 day old silver-laced are already twice the size of the banties!

The buff hen is so beautiful. I just love her. I can't call her Stephanie because the real Stephanie is tiny. I think she will be called Peaches after the movie "James and the Giant Peach".

We lost one of our tvs to the lightning earlier today...and it was on a power-surger.

We are up to 5 1/4 inches and it's still raining. All the ponds are full and running over. We are located on a hilly section. From the high point you can see for miles....beautiful full ponds, green pastures and happy cows standing in the rain getting their much needed baths.

Was praying for an old-fashioned toad soaker and God came through!

Sounds like alot of us are getting a good soak! We have a river running through most of the pasture & the garden. For once I am glad that I was behind on my planting.

Love the hillbillie chandiler!!! I think I might need one of them!!!!!

Well it looks like the rain is past us for now, got chores done, had a light out in one brooder and may loose 3 or 4 chicks due to piling up!!! Hatched out 5 NN from eggs i got out of Texas!!! two reds and threes Yellows!!! Ok so has anyone gone to the feedstore with two kids arguing and fussing and forgotten to get some feed you needed!!??? Well when I realized I forgot chick starter I called and the feedstore was closed soooooo i about burned up a blender and then switched to my food prossessor to grind up five gallons of egg pellets to get through the weekend, then went out to unload the rest of the feed and realized they gave me egg CRUMBIES instead of egg PELLETS!!!! After I grounded up the five gallons already!!!! Life as a chicken farmer page one!!!! LOL Lynn
